| At the time of her marriage to Andrew Carrick, her mother-in-law, Margaret, is a widow and likely a strong influence on the 22 year old Agnes. They name their first child after her. The couple are living at 39 Wellesley in 1906, 20 years into their married life, a walkable distance from her sister Florence and brother George who are living at 16 Gerrard. The Carrick bakery is at 253 Yonge and a grocery store at 172 Bay. They lived at 87 Glen in Rosedale for a number of years. The grocery survives for many years. They had, I think 2 sons: Elmer D. and Harold W. I base this on address listings for 1917. Elmer goes on to open a parking garage at 59-67 Richmond St. West ("Carricks Parking Garage") and has an "Airline Taxi" business as early as 1931. In 1921, her nephew Henry Ralph, my grandfather, lives at Glen Road while attending Osgoode Hall after WWI but by then his Aunt Agnes has been dead for five years, deceased at 57. Buried Plot C Section 25 lot 19. Mt. Pleasant Cemetary. Marriage MS Reel #55. Reg # 013839 |
